DARE Classic 5K
Ocean Running Club member Mark Mellea of Manchester won the D.A.R.E. Classic 5K with a time of 18 minutes, 13 seconds. One second later, 2-time D.A.R.E. Classic 5K winner, and fellow ORC member, Chris Peters of Barnegat crossed the finish line. Anthony Sarno of Forked River came in 3rd place, with a time of 18:32.

In the female 5K Race, Eva Panko of Millstone Township crossed the finish line first with a time of 21 minutes, 29 seconds. 2nd place went to Lee Dashti of Lanoka Harbor, who completed the course in 22:25. With a time of 22:30, Ashley Napoli of Forked River came in 3rd place.

In the 1 Mile Run/Walk, Matthew Singh came in first in the "Male - 12 years & younger" category. He was followed by Anthony Sarno, Trevor Forsman, Michael Pronel, and Minaj Booker.

In the "Female - 12 years & younger" 1 Mile Run/Walk, Maddie McClelland came in 1st place, followed by Caitrin Hall, Julia Forsman, Anna Francisco, and Melanie Buckley.

The event was a huge success! Thanks to everyone for coming out, participating, and contributing.

Track Workouts
Track workouts will start again on March 27, 2008 at the Ocean County College track. Workouts begin at 5:30pm. Anyone who wants to improve, get a good workout, or run with a group, come on out! For more information, call Pat at 732-831-1016.


Toms River Fitness And Aquatic Center


Thanks again to Toms River Fitness and Aquatic Center for hosting another Ocean Running Club meeting. Toms River Fitness provides their members with the environment and resources to achieve a more balanced, fulfilling and engaged life, physically and mentally. Exercise at Toms River Fitness is only one part of that. The helpful and friendly staff is equally important in assisting every person who comes through the doors in achieving goals of any kind. Today, they are one of Ocean County New Jersey’s preferred Fitness Centers due to warm welcomes, great location and variety of fitness programs available.
