The 2017 Ocean Running Club's Summer Series ended Tuesday at Winding River Park in Toms River. Once again it was a great turnout with nearly 100 runners.
Noah Jacobs was the overall winner, running the 5K course in 16:21. William Rapsas (16:36) and Kyle Sarno (18:33) finished in second and third. Taylor Guthrie was the first female finisher, with a winning time of 21:24. Lillian Sarno (22:42) and Tamare Hernandez (23:19) finished second and third.
Congratulations to the awesome race directors, Petra Lamonica and Pat Hancock for putting on a successful series. Thanks to all the runners and walkers that came out to make the series a success. There was a great pasta party with raffles and awards. Fun was had by all! Thank you to all the volunteers - we couldn't do it without you!

ORC Seaside Half Marathon and 5K
The Ocean Running Club's 40th Annual Seaside Half Marathon and 5K is scheduled for Sunday October 15, 2017. The race(s) benefit the Tri-Boro First Aid Squad of Seaside Heights, Seaside Park, and Berkeley Twp., The ORC Scholarship Fund, and the Marine Mammal Stranding Center..
There are some exciting new changes to the race this year. The races will be starting at a new location this year. Races begin at the Sawmill Café, on the boardwalk in Seaside Park. For our 40th year celebration, runners are welcome to take the Seaside Challenge and run the 5K and the Half Marathon races back-to-back!
The Ocean Running Club was well represented at the 18th Annual Pine Beach 5K on Sunday June 25th. Close to 450 runners cruised the quiet streets of Pine Beach, finishing along the Toms River. It was nice to see so many ORC racing singlets lining up for the race and walking around the field after finishing. Michael Parrde was the overall winner with a time of 17:22. Shlomo Schreiber (17:23) and Scott Sarno (18:45) finished in second and third place. Lillian Wolfson was the first female to cross the line with a winning time of 19:22. Dianne Deolivera (19:53) and Jade Tricomy (20:33) finished in second and third place.
