The 17th Annual Jingle Bells 5K run will be held on Sunday December 6, 2015 starting and finishing at the Ocean County Library on Washington Street in Toms River. The 5K run begins at 3:30pm with a One Mile Fun Run/Fitness Walk starting at 3:00pm.
Nearly 700 runners lined up on the boardwalk in Seaside Heights for the Ocean Running Club's 37th Annual Seaside Half Marathon and 5K. Runners had some cooler fall temperatures for the course along the beach and the bay. Thank you to all the volunteers that worked so hard to make it a great event for the race participants.
Justin Simard of Buffalo NY was the first overall finisher, with a winning time of 1:14:56. Jeff Propert (1:15:40) and Iain Ridgway (1:18:51) finished in second and third place respectively.
The first female finisher was Colleen Francis, of Toms River, with a winning time of 1:34:17. Meaghan Calabrese (1:35:03) and Lauren Eckberg (1:35:48) finished in second and third place respectively.
Tom Patchett, of Ocean Gate, won the 5K race in a time of 18:50. Daniel Iachetta (19:25) and Edward Stokes (19:36) finished in second and third place. Heather Matos, of Brick, was the first female finisher with a winning time of 20:13. Carolyn Rodgers (21:47) and Maggie Muir (23:13) finished in second and third place.

The Ocean Running Club's Fall In Love With Running program has moved to Friday evenings at 5:45pm in Island Heights. Meet at the boardwalk near the gazebo. All paces are welcome. We have 10 to 14 minute milers as well as a walk/run group.
The ORC track workouts are back at the Donovan Catholic High School track. The track is located behind the school off of Hooper Avenue.
Workouts will be held on Tuesday evenings, beginning at 5:30pm with a warmup and a different track workout each week. Anyone who wants to improve, get a good workout, or run with a group, come on out! All paces are welcome.
